Yesterday I attended a fascinating seminar on microfinance at Tufts. As the Wikipedia link above says, microfinance provides “financial services to clients who are excluded from the traditional financial system on account of their lower economic status”. The idea is that a little bit of money goes a long way when distributed to the right people.
